Is everyone psychic?
Yes, to some degree or another. We all have a spiritual guide and an angel that watches over us from birth. They talk to us and give us guidance.  I refer to them sometimes as "my little voice", but also that voice can at times be a big voice too. The key to developing your little voice is to listen, and to let your guides, angels, and Archangels know that you are listening. When communication does come, tell your guides and angels that you hear them. Like me, you may appear to be talking to yourself a lot. That's ok, at least by me it is.

Can everyone channel?
I would say yes and no.  I believe that everyone is a channel of God, or the Universal Force. So everyone does receive guidance and information. But not everyone develops the abilities to be a direct channel. There are some people who are just born wide open and receive information from Spirit with clarity and a profound ability to interpret Spirit communication at a very early age. Then there are those of us who develop this ability as we grew older at a much slower pace. I fall into this category of a slower opening. No matter how you develop, know that you come into this life with exactly the talents and abilities that are right for you, and that all is occurring in the perfect order of God's divine plan.

I started to channel after reading Ruth Montgomery's wonderful book about the psychic world, A Search for the Truth. Shortly afterwards, I met someone who was a psychic by chance at a friend's dinner. The psychic took one look at me and asked, "Why aren't you doing automatic writing? They want to talk to you." So I went home and began communicating in this way. As interested as I was in this, I only was able to keep up my automatic communications sporadically. My hectic daily life didn't seem to leave much time or energy for such communications. I was working a responsible busy career life, and when I devoted too much energy to Spirit communication, it left me feeling too "out there" or spaced out, to function in the grounded world of regular life.

So, I slowly opened, bit by bit, and became more confident in automatic writing, listening to my inner voice (or higher voice), becoming aware of my clairsentience (clear knowing) and clairaudience (clear hearing). I watched my dreams and learned to interpret them. I developed my ability to hold the Light of God and to raise my vibrations. Serious meditation definitely assisted me in this. Over the years I also realized I was psychic, a healer, a spiritual counselor and most importantly, one who holds Light and generates Light for the planet.

But it was just a few years ago that I took another step, and one day sat down with a teacher and friend, who helped me to expand once again and becoming a verbal channel for whom I refer to as the Council of Elders. When they come in, it is profoundly beautiful for me. Their energies are so pure and their love unconditional for us. Channeling is such a gift for me, because so much wisdom comes through, it is cosmic information - and even when on the rare occasion some personal info comes through, it often has a cosmic twist. That is one thing that makes me different from other channels; I don't seem to channel much detailed personal information.  What comes through is on a universal scale full of love and wisdom. (Although when I am not in a channeled trance state, and just use my psychic skill I can get personal information and messages.)

For those who are not familiar with reading channeled information, it does appear differently from unchanneled writings. Word usage and sentence structure are different than my typical writings. Information is on the cosmic level. And as with any channeled information, bear in mind that it always comes through the filter of the channel. If the channeler is a deep trance medium, like Edgar Cayce, they will not be conscious during the channeling or remember any of the communication that took place. I remain conscious during sessions and go into a light trance state. The channelers I know who connect in this way, all try their best not to put their own spin on what is being communicated. But the conscious channeler must use to some degree, their own personality to interpret what is shown them when the messages and information come through.

The group that I meet with to channel is a very small one, and we take turns every few weeks being the channel. Before we start a session, each person usually shares a brief observation about their week or comments on what they are working on or feeling. Oftentimes, the Council of Elders appears to be listening in on our pretalk, for many times the communication that comes through is based on, or comments on what we discussed.

When the channel connects and begins, everyone in the group becomes a part of the energy for receiving the communication. After the channeled information ends for the sitting, we take a few minutes allowing everyone to talk and comment about what they saw or felt during the channeling. Even those who are not "the channeler" receive awesome information and can add to the total understanding of the message that comes through. And later, when I transcribe my tape, I can't believe that the words came out of my own mouth. They are more than me.
